Take Flight with Lewa Wilderness

Take Flight with Lewa Wilderness

Soaring above the treetops, through valleys and over herds of game; there is no better way to witness the vast expanses of Lewa Wilderness than from the air!

Former crop-dusting pilot, and owner of Lewa Wilderness, Will Craig has years of flying experience and offers a truly ‘Out of Africa’ experience to guests. The lodge owns one of the only open cockpit Waco biplanes in Africa and, while guided bush walks, game drives and horse rides are all great options for immersing yourself in nature, getting a bird’s eye view gives you the opportunity to fully appreciate the landscape in all its wild and wonderful glory.

The flights, which are only available to guests at Lewa Wilderness, can take two passengers who accompany the pilot and generally last about 30 minutes. Kitted out in sheep skin jackets, scarfs and flying helmets with earphones, guests are taken over the Lewa plains, and then up and around Mount Kenya, or over the Nwaso Nero River, or even up north over some community ranches. The options to explore are endless.

It’s not hard to understand why this unique and exhilarating experience is a such a firm favourite with guests at Lewa Wilderness. Here are just a few comments from past guests:
