The Hide Community Trust is at it again and we couldn’t be more excited about this new venture.
Christabelle Peech, our community liaison has recently held a few workshops in various parts of the community on how to make kilns using termite mounds and spare car parts.
With these kilns, we are able to make these beautiful glass beads that are made out of recycled bottles.
This is a great way for us to recycle our glass bottles at The Hide but most importantly, a fantastic way for members of the community to become empowered and generate an income from the sale of these beads.
We are absolutely thrilled to have learned these new skills and so thankful to Cedi Beads who came out from Ghana to teach us! A wonderful collaboration of wonderful people. Special thanks to The Soft Foot Alliance Trust, Hwange Art and Recycling Project and Sable Sands.
