Makakatana Bay Lodge and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park are celebrating the 20th year since the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As we enter a year of celebrations, we will reflect on what makes this one of the most magical wilderness wonderlands in the world. In times when our planet is under such threat, we at Makakatana give thanks to what makes our home so special.
A place that we are proud to share pristine wilderness beaches, forests, and wetlands that are home to more than 1000 hippo and 1200 crocodile, and with over 500 bird species, it is a birders dream.
