Curious Cubs at Cottars

Curious Cubs at Cottars

We recently had some fantastic guests, Chris and Hannah Purves, staying with us at Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp and they had some amazing sightings during their stay. Lucky for us they are also amazing photographers and happily shared their stunning photographs with us, take a look:

We have two new adorable Cheetah cubs that have been spotted frequently, out and about with their mother.

This hardworking mother made an amazing kill last week for them, bringing down a large male grant gazelle which our guide Wilson and his guests were lucky enough to witness. Cheetah cubs face higher mortality than most other mammals, so we are thrilled that these two are doing so well and we will be keeping a close eye on them.

Another highlight, captured beautifully in these photographs by the Purves, are the numerous lion cubs that have been keeping all our guests thoroughly entertained. It’s been easy spending the mornings drinking hot fresh coffee and hanging out with these playful lion cubs, as they climb trees, play together and harass their mother. It’s wonderful to get to see them so frequently and to watch as their different personalities start to emerge.
