We have had lots going on this season at Kitich Forest Camp – from having a little plane based at Kalama for transfers and scenic flights and visits to Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, RESCUE; to a romantic engagement ceremony under the Camel Trees with a beautifully handcrafted sandalwood ring.
The season also came with a name change, now – Kitich Forest Camp – we think it better describes what a stay at Kitich is all about.
Lots of walking on sunshine, out into magical wilderness, elephants, wildflowers, and pops of exotic Samburu beads and cloth, flora and fauna against all the forest greens.
Emma and her Kitich team have been keeping busy this season with many happy guests experiencing the magic of this intimate camp. Flush loos have been installed in each of the six tents.
We’ve been spreading the ‘magic’ with a very successful local FAM trip and a visit from Kenya’s Nomad magazine, who produced a fantastic article and imagery, perfectly capturing the unique experience of a stay with us ‘Discovering the Mathews Range’.
Walking with Elephants
The forest continues to reveal its magic, with over 70 elephants recently spotted from the camp deck! With every trail taken into the forest, you can smell, hear and more often than not see these magnificent creatures.
