The Wolwedans Boulders Safari Camp is undergoing its first major revamp.
The jewel of the south (in the NamibRand Nature Reserve) is soon to unveil these awesome additions and refurbishments that will accompany the new 3-night itinerary, currently being used at the camp – in the first half of 2019.
Where the camp once slept 8 guests, it can now sleep 10, with a 5th room added that sports its own private plunge pool. A stunning massage deck for a variety of soul rejuvenating therapies has also been added and the final touches are being placed with some remarkable land-art celebrating the circular theme amongst the large granite boulders that occur naturally in the south of the Reserve. Estimated to be well over 1,220 million years old, our granite boulders are a stark reminder of the intense isolation that is synonymous with the Namib Desert and the Greater Sossusvlei landscape. It’s, therefore, no coincidence that Namibia is the second least densely populated country in the world.
Part of the team involved in the renovations are our very own female carpenters, who recently joined the team to start the project. Ms. Ndapandula Hamadila and Ms. Lydia Katusha are seen photographed here with our Managing Director, Stephan Bruckner, en-route from another day well spent, improving our magic Boulders Camp.
At Boulders Safari Camp, women empowerment is a strong focus and with more and more female carpenters and guides joining our team, we’re excited for the future of our women in these often, male-dominated industries.
Boulders Safari Camp is part of the Wolwedans Collection of Camps & Lodges.
