Safari Sundowners at Mowani

Safari Sundowners at Mowani

Sunset in Damaraland is an exceptionally beautiful period of the day.

Dubbed the Golden Hour,  what better way to spend sunset than on the top of a rocky outcrop above Camp Kipwe, enjoying a refreshing cocktail and relaxing while the sun sets over the Etendeka Mountain range?

Damaraland is known for its diversity of geology, landscapes, fauna, and flora. Since our Camp Kipwe is located within the Twyfelfontein Conservancy in Damaraland, we have easy access to the best that this area has to offer. One of the most sought-after attractions in Damaraland is the Desert-adapted elephants. Although they can be difficult to come by, our knowledgeable guides use their tracks and last known position to find the elephants amongst the vast amount of winding riverbeds and hills. If you are lucky, the elephants may even come up close to the vehicle as if it were one of their herd, giving everyone a most unforgettable experience.

Birdlife around Camp Kipwe is abundant. For the bird lovers out there, we have quite a verity of species that visit our fish pond and can be observed while relaxing in the lounge at Camp Kipwe.

After a long day of activities, Mowani invites you to settle down to a delicious dinner on our lounge deck, overlooking the moonlit Damaraland, while listening to the beautiful nocturnal sounds.
