Not only is this proudly South African boutique hotel a heritage building, but The Grand Daddy has also been operating as a hotel for over 120 years!

This unique Long Street hotel features the popular outdoor Pink Flamingo Rooftop Cinema, a top class restaurant called Thirty Ate Eatery, boutique hotel accommodation and South Africa’s only rooftop Airstream Trailer Park and Sky Bar boasting Table Mountain views. The Grand Daddy is a local landmark with a distinct focus on the promotion of local design, exceptional service, and world-class hospitality, making this hotel a unique, unmissable addition to Cape Town’s famous Long Street.
The internationally recognized boutique hotel welcomes family bookings and ideally accommodates families in the unique Family Suite. Lovingly equipped with soft white French linen, travertine marble bathrooms, showers, Beautiful Earth amenities, bathrobes, universal electricity outlets, wireless internet, satellite television, security safe, minibar, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and individual remote-controlled air conditioning (we could go on…) the Family Suite is comprised of a main parents room and interlinking door to the children’s bunk-bed room, both are en-suite. The introduction of a new Children’s Menu at Thirty Ate Eatery is sure to satisfy fussiest of tummy’s and hungry bellies!

The team at the Grand Daddy are all set to host an epic Christmas Lunch and Dinner at our fabulous Thirty Ate Eatery, with a modern take on traditional festive fare and a bumper New Year’s Eve bash on the rooftop. Cape town’s dam average has now increased to 76% after reaching the three-quarter full mark! Five of the main six water resource dams are now at over 90% full, and the previously depleted Theewaterskloof dam now has a capacity of 58%. This is great news for locals as well as tourists, visiting our beautiful city, and they’re still saving water at The Grand Daddy! As well as affixing water saving devices to our taps, they have adapted their laundry policy and implemented a bucket collection strategy in the rooftop trailers.
