Lilac mountains and a million stars reflected across a shimmering lake create a dazzling encore to classic Kariba days and breathtaking sunsets at Changa Safari Camp.
Tonight it’s the setting for a romantic poolside dinner à deux. Chef Tanaka presents a gourmet 3-course menu every evening served with a spectacular view and warm service. From sundowner setups on the shore to bush breakfasts, exciting nature walks and late afternoon fishing trips, there are so many opportunities for romance and adventure at Changa, with just the right dash of drama.
The special moments are always there and April has seen its fair share with a happy couple renewing their vows on the beach – “…the absolutely best holiday of our lives and we will never be able to fully express how we appreciate everything you did and how much we love Changa!”
Then there were regular sightings of a 300-strong herd of buffalo on the floodplain, elephant, lion, and cheetah – and even a leopard encounter for lucky guests in early April.
One of the most exciting happenings was the waterspout that formed over Lake Kariba, a very rare, natural phenomenon in stormy weather. As huge storm clouds gathered over the lake, we spotted the spout! Dillan Prinsloo captured it all on video.
